Lotto luck hit the Bay once again at the weekend with Napier's Countdown Carlyle store selling a winning first-division ticket.
The store sold one of two winning $500,000 tickets in Saturday's draw. The other winning ticket, sold in Auckland, also picked up the $3 million powerball for a total prize of $3.5 million.
It is the first big win for the Napier store this year with the winner having already claimed the ticket. Staff could not comment on whether the winner was from Hawke's Bay.
Last February, Napier's second Countdown store on the corner of Dickens and Munroe streets sold a winning second-division ticket worth $15,227.
