Valerie Adams shines
Olympic shot put champion Valerie Adams visited the province yesterday for the Central Hawke's Bay Sportsperson of the Year Award but not before signing autographs and passing on advice to young fans.
The gold medallist was guest speaker at last night's awards in Waipukurau's AW Parsons Stadium, where she wowed Central Hawke's Bay's elite athletes and a record crowd of 480.
