Anna Guy's new man from Bay
Anna Guy and her new partner Brent Jameson are very happy living together in Auckland, his Dannevirke-based mother says.
Guy is now living in Auckland with senior marketing executive Brent Jameson, where he owns the house he is sharing with Anna and her four children on the North Shore.
Jameson is formerly from Dannevirke, where his mother and father Joan and Kevin still live.
Yesterday Joan Jameson told Hawke's Bay Today her son was "getting on really well - they're very happy".
She had met Guy on several occasions and said she was "lovely" and "very, very nice".
"All I can say is they are very happy and the children have settled in very well in Auckland."
Neither Guy nor Jameson wanted to talk about their relationship at the weekend, but they appeared happy in each other's company.
There has been much speculation about Guy's new partner since she confirmed last year her split with Ewen Macdonald, the man accused but acquitted of murdering her brother, Scott Guy. She confirmed last weekend that she had moved from Feilding permanently and was living in Auckland and she is filming interviews for TV3's new current affairs show, 3rd Degree.
Talking about a probable move north from Feilding last year, Guy said: "I need to get a job and I need to make a fresh start. I am excited about moving to Auckland, there is more opportunity up there.
"I have more friends up there, too, so that is a drawcard. I think it is a good thing for the kids to have a change rather than staying in a small town.
"I feel I have so much more to explore and do with my life because I settled down so young and didn't go anywhere. I didn't know any different."
Macdonald, who is serving time in jail, told her last year he would always love her, but his actions - killing animals and vandalising Scott and Kylee Guy's house - had been too serious to overlook.
Meanwhile, private investigators reviewing Scott Guy's murder say debate over whether there was a significant police failure in the hunt for the killer can be resolved for about $100,000.
The four-man team wants two effluent ponds on Mr Guy's Manawatu farm emptied, saying there is a chance they hide key evidence - the murder weapon, a dive boot which was a key in Ewen Macdonald's trial, or the remains of puppies missing from the time of the crime.
They say grain sacks missing from the farm may have been used to dispose of evidence and could have been weighted to sink into the sludge.
Police drained the ponds but did not dredge the sludge. Police say the draining was sufficient, but Mr Guy's widow Kylee Guy, who was born in Hastings and now lives in Hawke's Bay, has joined the mounting pressure for action.
High-profile lawyer Greg King, who died last year, has been cleared by the Ministry of Justice of wrong-doing after a prisoner accused him of over-billing for legal aid.
King, who defended Scott Guy-murder accused Macdonald, died in November.
His death was reported to the coroner.
