Art students' show visits

Visual Art from New Zealand's top secondary school art students will be featured in Hawke's Bay in August.

The Top Art exhibition is a selection of the top 55 Visual Arts portfolios from students who gained Excellence in NCEA Level 3 in 2010.

NZQA's Deputy Chief Executive Bali Haque said Top Art showcased the best of the five streams of Visual Arts - photography, design, printmaking, sculpture and painting.

The touring exhibition gives the public the opportunity to see the high standard of art produced in secondary schools, and gives students and teachers an understanding of what is required to achieve Excellence in Visual Art at Level 3.

The exhibition will be on show August 8 to 12 at Havelock North Community Centre.
