Blazing tyres cause fire alarm
Billowing black smoke from burning tyres led to multiple calls to the Hastings fire service on Saturday.
The Hastings fire service said a rubbish fire in a concrete bay just after 10am spread to car tyres in a neighbouring bay.
A neighbour alerted the owner, who separated the burning tyres with a small digger. The fire service quickly extinguished them.
