Swimming record broken

Hawke's Bay swimmer Bruin Maunder set a record at the national age group championships in Wellington at the weekend.

Greendale 12-year-old Maunder clocked 1m13.93s in the 100m breaststroke to finish second overall in the under-13 section.

His clubmate Bobbi Gichard won the 12-13 years 50m backstroke in 30.65s, a touch outside the national record of 30.51s held by Commonwealth Games representative Emily Thomas.
