Check you're not one of these before you laugh

What kind of business person are you?
What kind of business person are you?

Certain types exist in all offices: the braggers, the style icons, the whingers and the comedians.

But do you know which one you are and, if so, does being one of the types help you further your career in the organisation?

The Tech Guru: We know them; they are the first person we call when the system or gadgets play up. They fix the issue and tend to throw in some other worldly advice free.

Promotion rating: 8/10

The Smiling Red Bull: Over-the-top team player intent on giving everyone a hand with their chores and tasks. More energy than a Duracell bunny on Red Bull.

Promotion rating: 9/10

Party Guy: The life and soul of all office functions, who has a catalogue of stories to beat all stories. Often seen with a hangover on a Friday, or chatting to the women in the canteen.

Promotion rating: 6/10, (possibility of 8/10 if they over-deliver in their job).

The Poison: Hates their job, the company and all days in the week ending in 'y'. Revels in meetings where they can air their stifled opinion. Even finds fault with Richie McCaw's game. Promotion rating: 2/10

Office Mum: The go-to at work who has the answers to all domestic issues. Be it relationship issues, cooking queries, good parenting tips, or finance questions, she'll have the answer. Most notably, she'll probably be the most politically savvy person in the office so be on her team.

Promotion rating: 9/10

The Chancer: Somehow, this spoofer has managed to work their way up through the ranks and sitting pretty in a mysterious role that is mythical in its existence. No one knows what they actually do, but everyone loves them, admires them, and believes that their input is the reason the organisation is so successful.

Promotion rating: 10/10

The Meeting King: On a perpetual journey of meetings with every division of the organisation. Has a meeting about a meeting that is co-ordinating a programme for meetings. Furiously scribbles notes that never see the light of day following the meeting.

Promotion rating: 5/10.

Recognise any of them? Recognise yourself even? If so, and you might question the promotion rating, fear not. If you can do your job and a little more you're on the right track.
