Both Hawke's Bay teams will play in today's quarter-finals at the national secondary schools under-15 rugby tournament in Rotorua.

Hastings Boys' High School will take on Auckland Grammar and Napier Boys' High School will play Mount Albert Grammar. Both Bay teams have two wins and a loss.

Hastings Boys' High School beat Wellington College 8-7 before losing to St Patrick's of Wellington 13-8 on Monday. Yesterday, Hastings Boys' High School beat Tauranga Boys' College 22-12.

Flankers AJ Mua and Fale Auga, alongside lock Harris Solomon, have impressed in the Hastings pack.

The midfield duo of second five-eighth Hunta Marsh and centre Ibanez King-Edwards have been the pick of the backs.

NBHS opened their campaign with a 36-0 thrashing of New Plymouth Boys' High School before losing 10-7 to St Bede's College of Christchurch on Monday. Yesterday, NBHS pipped Palmerston North Boys' High School 15-14.

Captain and tighthead prop Jack Smith-Ballingle and openside flanker Sam Pomana have been prominent in the NBHS pack, while second five-eighth Tyler McNeil has starred in the backline.

Hockey

Napier Boys' High School recorded their first win at the premier national secondary schoolboys hockey tournament, the Rankin Cup, in Napier yesterday.

Their 6-4 win against Tauranga Boys' College followed an earlier 1-0 loss to Auckland Grammar and a 6-3 loss to Westlake Boys' High on Monday.
