Serious crash in Napier
Emergency services were at the scene of a serious crash on the Hawke's Bay Expressway between Prebensen Drive and Westshore in Napier just as Hawke's Bay Today went to print about 9.30pm last night.
Initial reports suggested a head on collision between two vehicles about 1 kilometre south of the Hawke's Bay Airport on the expressway.
It was believed a male driver suffered serious "status 1" injuries. Police closed a section of the road from the Prebensen Drive/expressway roundabout to the northern end of a bridge where the expressway intersects with Meeanee Quay, to allow emergency services and the police serious crash unit to access the scene.
