Crunch at corner hurts rider

A cyclist was lucky to escape serious injury after being in collision with a car on the corner of Kennedy and Maadi roads in Napier yesterday.

St John acting district operations manager John Plastow said it appeared to be a low-speed accident caused by sun strike to the driver about 7.11am.

The cyclist received bruised ribs and was taken to the Napier Health Centre.
