Hawke's Bay children and their parents will get the chance to sing and dance to the beat of New Zealand's own children's entertainers, The Polkadots, for free.

Since 2009, the group have delighted audiences with their live shows as well as recording five DVDs and seven CDs.

During the October school holidays, The Polkadots - Carly Tata, Dionne Shaw, Dez Reid and Sarah Midgley with their friend Mister Bop - will perform in 25 locations across the country on their Connect the Dots' tour funded by primary partners Water Buddies, Easiyo and Classic Hits.

"At every concert and through our daily blog and on Facebook, we feature our partners and encourage our audience to 'like' them online. The more they like, the more we are able to provide Polkadots for free. It's simple but it works," Ms Tata said.

"Everyone on the tour is also donating their time as are a small volunteer army of Polkadots fans who are co-ordinating promotion in every centre.

"The response to 'Polkadots Free' has been amazing and what's really exciting is that we can finally take Polkadots to the whole country."

They will be at the Rodney Green Centennial Events Centre on Monday, October 3, at 10am, followed by a show in at Havelock North High School from 2pm.
