Grants for youth projects
Young Napier people seeking financial help to pursue a project or activity are being encouraged to apply for a slice of the Napier Youth Council's $3000 development grants fund.
The Youth Development Fund was set up to assist young people, between the ages of 12 and 24, to pursue music, art and cultural opportunities, and to achieve goals they set without being held back by financial limitations.
A Napier Youth Council spokesperson said the fund was valuable in that it gave the young recipients the chance to enhance their personal development and growth.
Those seeking a slice of the fund have to apply in writing to the Napier City Council's Community Development Department detailing why they require the funding.
A shortlist of about 25 applicants is made up which is subsequently reduced to 15 - with each successful applicant receiving a $200 grant.
Applications opened yesterday and will close on October 5.
Grant criteria can be found at www.napieryouth.co.nz and applications made to: Community Development Napier City Council,Private Bag 6010, Napier 4142.
