Havelock North man charged with murdering father
Name suppression lapsed today for a Havelock North man charged with murdering his father.
Johnathon Walter Middleton, 31, entered no plea to a charge of murder after allegedly stabbing his 61-year-old father, Walter William Middleton.
Police were called to the Danvers Street address where the incident reportedly occurred about 7pm on Wednesday 9.
Mr Middleton died the following night in Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital and provisional post mortem results indicate he died as a result of injuries received.
His son was remanded in custody to appear again next month.
