Hawke's Bay farmer hurt in quad bike crash
A female farmer is in a serious but stable condition after a quad bike accident near Wanstead yesterday.
The woman was believed to have been injured when her quad bike rolled on a property south of Waipukurau about midday.
She was treated by St John staff at the scene and taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.
The accident follows a number of serious quad bike accidents in the Bay this year, including four that resulted in serious injury and one fatality, a Department of Labour spokesperson said.
