Help support Christchurch earthquake victims

APN News & Media, publisher of Hawke's Bay Today, is today launching a nation-wide appeal for Christchurch earthquake victims with an initial company contribution of $100,000.

The appeal is being partnered by The Radio Network and will be supported by the company's newspapers, magazines, websites and radio stations across the country.

All funds raised will be donated to the Christchurch Mayoral Earthquake Appeal and be administered by the Red Cross.

APN New Zealand CEO Martin Simons said, "It is time for New Zealanders to support a community in need. Apart from the destruction of some of the country's iconic buildings, this event will leave thousands of people in temporary accommodation for months."

"Our role is to mobilise the general population of the country using our great brands like The New Zealand Herald, Newstalk ZB, The New Zealand Woman's Weekly, nzherald.co.nz and our regional radio and newspaper voices."
