New Zealand's Junior White Sox have qualified for the top eight playoffs at softball's Junior Women's World Series in Cape Town.

The Junior White Sox, who are captained by Hawke's Bay pitcher Rita Hokianga, ended pool play with a 10-2 win against hosts South Africa and an 18-8 win against Botswana.

With five wins and two losses the Kiwis finished third in their pool and will take a single life into their top eight playoffs, which begin with a match against Brazil tonight.

Should the Kiwis beat Brazil they will play the loser of the Australia-United States match. A loss will end their campaign.
