Luke Leadbetter is keen to make the most of his first kickboxing fight in Australia on Saturday night.
It will be Leadbetter's last fight before he takes a break from the sport to concentrate on his studies at Massey University. The 18-year-old, who is one of three Zero Tolerance fighters who leave the Bay tomorrow to travel to Toowoomba, will take a three win-one loss record into his fight against Chris Stevens of the host gym.
Taradale High School year 13 student Trevor Kapoor will take on Luke Hearl from the Mad X Gym. Kapoor, 17, has come up two weight divisions from last year and is one of Zero Tolerance's more experienced amateur fighters with nine bouts against a variety of senior and junior opponents on his CV.
Like Leadbetter and Kapoor 19-year-old Easton Nicholas has fought and won in Thailand but will be fighting in Australia for the first time when he meets Ben Sorenson from Joe Hilton's Brisbane Gym. An apprentice engineer at Eastbridge in Napier, Nicholas has won five of his six fights to date - four by knockout.
