The first of two shearing courses will be held next week south of Dannevirke, taking students from Dannevirke High School. It will be run by Palmerston North training manager Ian Hopkirk.

Spaces are still available on the second course between July 2 and 5 near Hastings, run by Hawke's Bay and East Coast manager Bill Hale.

Christchurch-based former Golden Shears open wool-handling champion Huia Whyte-Puna will return home to Hawke's Bay as an instructor for a Level 4 wool-handling course in Napier between July 10 and 13 and a Level 2-3 course is being planned for Dannevirke the following week.
