Man charged with two aggravated robberies

An 18-year-old man has been charged with two aggravated robberies in Hastings last month.

The victims were not physically hurt, but were left shaken.

At 12.30pm on August 21 two women were threatened by a man armed with a steel pole at the Southland Road Superette.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

Today Detective Constable Sally Patrick said the alleged offender faced two charges of aggravated robbery and would appear in Hastings District Court on September 14.

She thanked people for their help during the extensive inquiries into the robberies.
