Man killed in forestry accident near Dannevirke
A man has been killed in a forestry accident in the Tararua District this morning.
Emergency services were called to Route 52, Pongaroa, south of Dannevirke, about 7.37am.
A police spokesperson said it appeared the man, believed to be 25 years old, had been crushed by a tree.
Occupational Safety and Health was investigating the accident and the death has been referred to the coroner.
