Matisse Reid surgery a success
Matisse Reid has successfully come through what her mother Jodee hoped would be the last surgery for a long time.
The chronically-ill 10-year-old had never been able to eat until a double organ transplant in December. Mrs Reid said the surgery "went really well" but Matisse's old pain issues "have reared their ugly head".
"We went in with some optimism that we would not have the same issues as post-transplant, but I guess a lifetime of pain is impossible to reverse in just a few months."
Mrs Reid said pain and medication would slow progress and no discharge date had been set.
