Poetry comes to town today

Various venues throughout Napier will today play host to live readings to commemorate National Poetry Day 2011.

The public are welcome to three events during the day, starting at 10am with a reading at Napier's Beattie & Forbes Bookshop, on Tennyson Street.

St Luke's Church on Vigor Brown St will also host live poets at 11am, as will Taradale Senior Citizens, on White St, Taradale, from 1pm.

Those who can't make today's events can check out the final live reading at the EIT on Tuesday beginning at noon in the student cafeteria.
