Quad bike duo stable
Two people remain in a stable condition in Auckland hospitals while police continue to investigate a Waimarama quad bike accident.
Daniel McGregor is in a stable condition at Middlemore Hospital, with two broken legs and a broken pelvis.
His 6-year-old daughter, Ashlee Shorrock, also remains stable at Starship Hospital, recovering from head injuries.
Mr McGregor, along with two friends and partner Stephanie Lucas, were on the quad bike when it veered down a bank on Okaihau Rd, shortly before midnight on January 2. Ashlee was thrown from the bike and suffered serious head injuries. It's believed they had been drinking at the beach beforehand.
Hastings road policing Sergeant Ray Kirkby said yesterday the investigation was continuing. No charges had yet been laid.
