Rescue chopper kept busy

Three patients with broken bones needed help from the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter crew on Friday.

The helicopter was first called to the Whakapapa skifield where a 23-year-old Hastings woman had broken her arm while snowboarding.

She was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

The helicopter then went to Turoa where a 27-year-old Canadian skier had broken his leg. He was flown to Wanganui Hospital. The helicopter was later called to help a 45-year-old Auckland man who broke his ankle on a private hunting block east of Taupo. He was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
