Roadworks lead to delays
Highway resealing and railway crossing maintenance will create a need for some detours in the busy weekend traffic around Ahuriri in Napier this weekend.
The weekly Highways Network report says contractors will complete the resealing of the Ahuriri Bypass section of State Highway 50, on Saturday, focused mainly near the Hardinge Rd and Bridge St intersections.
On Sunday, KiwiRail will also be carrying out what the report says is "significant" maintenance on its Breakwater Rd crossing, near Napier Port.
The report says detours are likely, and there will be "minor" delays.
Among issues affecting travel times over the weekend will be continued drop-out site repairs near Tutira on SH2 (Napier-Wairoa), maintenance at other SH2 sites from Napier to Takapau, and maintenance on SH5 (Napier-Taupo).
