Motorists are advised to watch out for, and drive to, speed restriction signs.

No roadworks will be open on the main highways in and out of Hawke's Bay during the Labour Weekend holiday period, although motorists are advised to watch out for, and drive to, speed restriction signs where work has been taking place.

Major projects have been put on hold until Tuesday. Then, on SH2 between Napier and Gisborne, pavement maintenance crews will resume work between Wairoa and north of Nuhaka, causing minor delays.

On SH2 between Napier and Dannevirke, various underground cabling crews can be expected between Pakipaki and Waipawa.

Passing-lane construction is in progress just south of Pakipaki, but confined to the shoulder.

Cable laying is also being done on the SH2B expressway between Westshore and Prebensen Drive, while on SH5 work will resume next Tuesday on pavement reconstruction and general maintenance between Te Pohue and Tarawera. Drivers can expect minor delays.
