Six wineries unite for special wine fair
Six Hawke's Bay boutique winemakers will be showcasing their finest at a special wine fair set to be staged at Salvare off Ngatarawa Rd on Sunday.
"Wine fairs between Christmas and New Year are the ideal way to unwind with family and friends and a great way to introduce visitors to Hawke's Bay's stellar wineries," Salvare owner Steve Nathan said.
The six winemakers, part of the boutique group which stages monthly fairs during the summer, will showcase their wares with tastings and special sales deals, which Mr Nathan said would be complemented by food from the "Paella Man" and food and cheese platters.
To add to the summer flavour music would be provided by James Rochester.
"We're looking forward to a really good crowd of wine enthusiasts, keen to relax in the vines and soak up the atmosphere," Mr Nathan said.
Salvare was named Cellar Door of the Year in 2009 and the winery, affectionately known as the "red shed", has become a popular spot for visitors throughout the year.
The winemakers holiday fair takes place on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
