SOLD OUT: Sting will play to a capacity crowd at the Mission Concert.
Sting, his band and orchestra, will be playing to a full house at the Mission Estate Winery next February.
A check with the Mission Concert website this morning revealed the two words promoters had been predicting since tickets went on sale on August 19 - first to concert club members and then general public sales two days later - "Sold Ou".
Director of production company SEL, Geoff Jones, said sales had been "exceptionally strong" and the "house full" signs were being prepared a week ago.
General admission and package deal tickets had all been snapped up by this morning - although the website did have one bit of good news for anyone who missed out with the message "merchandise still available online".
A crowd of 25,000 will see the ex-Police frontman perform his "Symphonicity" concert.
The last concert to reach that mark was Tom Jones in 2008, although tickets for that event were still being sold a fortnight out from concert day. Last year's Motown at the Mission concert failed to sell out, although it was estimated close to 22,000 attended.
The record for the fastest sales is held by Rod Stewart, whose 2004 concert sold out in about an hour.
The 2011 Sting at the Mission concert is set to take place on February 12.
