Telecom apologises following Hawke's Bay broadband outage

Brett Phibbs

Telecom has apologised to tens of thousands of customers in the Hawke's Bay region following a broadband outage for up to 3 hours last night.

Telecom said it fixed the problem just before 9pm last night  and any affected customers should have been able to reconnect from that time.

It said the problem arose during planned maintenance work and may have affected up to 26,000 customers.

Those customers who are having difficulty reconnecting this morning should restart their modems by disconnecting the power cord for ten seconds and then turning the modem on again.

If customers still experience problems after restarting their modems they can call Telecom on 123.
