Chiefs prop Sona Taumalolo has escaped punishment for his dangerous tackle against Super 14 rugby rivals the Reds.
Hawke's Bay's Taumalolo was yesterday found guilty of making a dangerous tackle on Quade Cooper during his team's 23-18 loss to the Reds in Hamilton last Friday night. However, no censure was imposed by Sanzar judicial officer Peter Hobbs after a hearing in Wellington.
Hobbs decided while Taumalolo's tackle breached the laws of the game, his overall culpability did not warrant any further penalty, Sanzar said.NZPA
